Emily Boyd, Executive Vice President
Hi, I’m Emily Boyd, your PA FBLA Collegiate Executive Vice President! I’m a first-generation entrepreneur and licensed cosmetologist who independently launched and operates my own salon, which I’m proud to say has experienced steady growth over the past three years in business! I earned my cosmetology license at 17 after attending both a vocational and technical school simultaneously, graduating top of my cosmetology class. I later became the youngest licensed cosmetology instructor in Pennsylvania and spent several years teaching—something I’m still incredibly passionate about!
Outside of the beauty world, I’m a retired international pageant competitor and have worked in promotions for multiple big-name brands within the motorsports industry. Fun fact—I used to race motorcycles and even owned a Harley, until a traumatic brain injury led me to shift gears in life (pun totally intended!). Since then, I’ve focused on my education, volunteer work, my supportive fiancé, and our two fox red Labrador Retrievers, Benelli and Winnie—my absolute fur babies.
Benelli is a certified therapy dog that I trained and certified myself, and we now volunteer together regularly. Both dogs also compete in dock diving—Benelli currently jumps at the junior level, while Winnie is mostly along for the fun. She was also once a proud mom to a litter of five puppies—with Benelli as the dad!
I’m proud to be a 4.0 student and top of my class in Business Administration, Marketing, and Management at South Hills School of Business and Technology, where I also serve as our campus FBLA Chapter President. I love learning random facts (especially about ancient history—Egypt is a favorite!), encouraging others to be kind and hustle hard, and tending to my massive plant collection. My fiancé calls me “Pixar” because I’m always looking at things with fresh eyes and a creative twist—usually with a little sparkle too.
As your Executive Vice President, I genuinely want to connect with all of our FBLA members. Whether you have ideas, questions, or just want to chat—I’m always here to listen, support, and cheer you on. Let’s make this an incredible year together!
